Welcome back guys to daily loot #8! Today’s newsletter is dominated by news of Loot possibly going to L2 - perfect timing with Twitter buzzing about arbitrum or however it’s spelled.
Loot on Polygon Proof of Concept
Dom tweeted out today that he would work on a Proof of concept for polygon, but that it would be compatible with any L2 or alternative L1 for that matter.
He followed up that this could introduce the idea of “Realms” (but not to be confused with @LootRealms) where each chain could have a unique community or items, and be able to send things to and fro from Ethereum mainnet (“the hub” as Dom refers to it).
A lot of this is speculation based on the two tweets he posted out earlier, and Dom also used very noncommittal language here so it’s hard to say whether this is a priority, will be a serious implementation, or even an ETA on this.
I’m sure that now the idea has been planted into the community’s idea that even if Dom doesn’t deliver on this, the community would. It would just be so Loot and I would be so excited for it. Thoughts go out to Dom or whoever decides to take on this technical monster!
200 Unminted Bags - What To Do?
Over on Loot Talk, Dom made a post earlier today asking what the community wants to do with the 200 Loot Bags that remain to be minted. The options seem to be:
- Burn the bags, supply reduces to 7800.
- Mint the bags, place into a neutral multi sig for voting, and estabslih a sort of mini DAO for it to be used for other purposes.
- Random lottery. Exactly what it sounds like. Existing loot holders put into a drawing, and it’s just sent.
It seems the community sides with the neutral option of minting them now, and keeping them in a neutral multi sig so we can decide later. Also, 200 lootbags would also mint 2,000,000 AGLD, which would be a huge injection of capital that could possibly be used for funding builders or even using as collateral, liquidity, or something like that.
